Dr. Merihun Fikru Meja born from mom Kebedech Tadesse and Dad Fikru Meja at Woliata Zone, Areka City, Sefere-selam Kebele May 28, 1982 GC.

Currently working at South Ethiopia Regional State with the Rank of Vice President of the Regional Government, Dilla Cluster Coordinator and Agricultural Bureau Head. I am working as the Board of Director for the regional Seed Enterprise, Board of Director for the regional Poultry Enterprise, Vice Board of Director for the Regional Head for Woliata Development Association, Board Member of Investment Administration of the region.

On top of that I am working as more that 7 different governmental and other Steering Committees. I have been working as the researcher and published 23 articles in reputable journals. I advised and examined more than 123 master’s partial fulfillment research papers. I presented different research papers in more than 5 international and 7 national professional conferences.

A year before, I was Director General of South Ethiopia Region Agricultural Research Institute. From June 3/2021-August 10/2023, I was Director General of Southern Nations Nationalities of People Region (SNNPR), Police and Research Study Institute. Most importantly, I was researcher and Academician in Addis Ababa University for short period of time. In (SNNPR), from December 6, 2015 – September 8, 2018 I worked as College Dean. From August 8, 2013- October 30/2015, I worked as the heads of Wolaita Zone Agriculture Development Department efficiently. Finally, I worked in different expertise positions at different level.

Education and credential PhD in Development Studies from Addis Ababa University, in June 2021. MA in Development Studies from Addis Ababa University in 2012, BA in Economics from Araba-Minch University in 2008.
